I go by the screen name of Capn Finder on geocaching.com. You might think this boastful, but I assure you it was not chosen to reflect my skill in finding caches. A check of my stats will prove I have no extraordinary ‘finder’ skill.
A few years ago, my niece named me that on a long hike. I gave her a walkie-talkie and kept encouraging her from up ahead about what was coming. She was L’il Bit and I became Cap’n Finder. She walked about nine miles that day and was super motivated to be first back to the car so she could inform me over the radio.
